Raw Energy Mural

Mural commissioned by Raw Energy young carer's support drop-in centre in Morphett Vale, now closed.

A statement from Nadia Yacoubi at the City of Onkaparinga Council
The mural was like a lively scene of connection that decorated the walls of the young carer centre. From the moment those colours caught their eye, the young carers expressed how deeply they felt at home, surrounded by a sense of belonging among their peers, with doors open wide specifically for them. It became a source of comfort for those navigating tough personal circumstances, some of which seemed almost unimaginable, yet it also stood as a testament to the resilience of those who shared their stories and faced their challenges head-on, all against the backdrop of that mural pulsating with the vibrant words of R a w E n e r g y, a hidden landmark of a program that supported and empowered so many.

Amongst the tears, it was laughter that echoed most throughout the space—a chorus of understanding, respect, and empathy resonating in every corner. It became a sanctuary where their emotions, joy, and connections were always embraced and celebrated, making it truly their second home… and ours too.
